Tec40 is the first course in the PADI TecDeep program. This is where you will begin your transition from recreational to technical diving and how to extend your diving limits safely with limited decompression stops.
This course contains self study material, academic/classroom based instruction as well as practical applications and 4 open water dives.
In this course you will learn to:
- Safely extend your dive time past the no decompression limit (NDL).
- Safely plan and execute limited decompression dives to 130ft/40m using air and enriched air mixtures
- Calculate gas usage, reserve gasses, and decompression requirements
- Switch gasses on decompression stops for added conservatism
- Review basic nitrox principles and learn new ones for decompression diving
Pre-Requisites:
- PADI Advanced Diver or equivalent
- PADI Enriched Air Diver or equivalent
- PADI Deep specialty diver or at least 10 dives to 100ft/30m
- At least 18 years old
- Signed medical statement
Equipment you will use:
- Standard technical configured equipment with twin tanks
- or standard configuration scuba equipment with pony bottle
- Or sidemount configuration
